Urban Sketching Trip to Turkey

Urban sketch on Turkish Airlines flight home

Our month-long trip to Turkey was a bit of a busman’s holiday, but I took along my sketchbook to keep making progress in my #kick365 sketching challenge.

I sketched at the beach, on the Bodrum to Datça ferry, in cafes, and anywhere else where I had some time to wait, observe, and sketch.

I also sketched on the plan ride home.

Looking back at these sketches is a visual reminder of our trip. They’re not all perfect, but I successfully captured a moment in time.

I packed a minimal artist kit for this trip, and you can see how light I travelled, here.
