Tavira’s Roman Bridge with the Igreja de Santa Maria do Castelo rendered in ink and watercolour

Tavira Roman Bridge and Church, Igreja de Santa Maria do Castelo ink and watercolour sketch

Roman Bridge view of the Igreja de Santa Maria

This is the renowned Roman Bridge it Tavira, which isn’t actually from Roman times. But it’s a key landmark that people use to give directions. There are so many elements within this sketch that I’m not satisfied with, but as far as capturing a moment in time, it works.

I’m not sure how enthusiastic I’ll be about attempting this view of Tavira again, but I am intrigued to sketch a close-up view of the Igreja de Santa Maria in the background from this angle. I just wish I could get a more elevated view of that clump of buildings.
