Igreja de Santa Maria do Castelo
This is such an iconic Tavira church that I have a feeling I’m going to sketch it many more times from different angles. Last time I sketched a wide view of the the Ingress de Santa Maria that included the steps that separate it from the residential buildings opposite. But I love the angles and curves of this back-site of the church, and a close-up sketch did it more justice.
A low vantage point for the sketch helped to create a sense of grandeur, and it’d be fun to get even more dramatic in my next version of this scene. I do love playing with angles and perspectives.
