Ermida de São Brás Tavira Church ink and watercolour sketch

Ermida de São Brás

My ink and watercolour painting is of the back of Ermida de São Brás Catholic church in Tavira.

It’s opposite the Ti Maria restaurant, and their outdoor tables set up on the pavement behind the church. It was prior to their lunchtime session so all the tables and chairs were set up in anticipation of customers. It was summer time and the mid-day sun was casting strong shadows.

This scene appealed to me because both the church and the restaurant were sharing a moment of tranquility. I also like the solitary no entry sign watching over the scene like a skinny maître-d.
